AMANI AFRICATEAM
Fikir Getachew Mekonen is an early career researcher with an interest in violence, peacebuilding, development, and democratization. Prior to joining Amani Africa, she worked as a research consultant for the Ethiopia Project within the Horn of Africa Security Analysis Programme at the Institute for Security Studies.
Fikir holds an MA in Peace and Security Studies from the Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS), a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from Addis Ababa University and is passionate about fostering social change through community organising and prefigurative politics.
