Gambia

Gambia has been a member of the PSC three times for two-year term. Gambia is a current member of the PSC after its election in February 2022, effective as of 1 April 2022.

2012-14, 14-16, and 22-24

Gambia was on PSC's agenda in 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2020. In the earlier years (2016 and 2017), the PSC dealt with violent events that unfolded following the conclusion of the December 2016 election. In 2019 and 2020, the PSC's engagement on Gambia was focused on reforms and transition processes in the country which commenced under the newly elected regime.
