Niger

Niger has been a member of the PSC for two consecutive two-year term, elected in 2014 and 2016.

Membership years: 2014-16, and 16-18

From 2009 to 2011, Niger was on the PSC's agenda in the context of political crisis in the country including the military coup of February 2010. In 2017, the PSC also dedicated a specific session dealing with the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Mali and Niger. Aside from that, terrorism related insecurity in Niger is dealt with within the framework of the PSC's engagement on the broader Sahel region.
