Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso has been a member of the PSC for two consecutive two-year term, elected in 2006 and 2008. Burkina Faso was one of the countries that submitted its candidature for the 2022 PSC election, but failed to feature in the ballot due to its suspension from the AU following the January 2022 military seizure of power.

Membership years: 2006-08, and 08-10

Burkina Faso has been on the PSC's agenda in 2014, 2015 and 2022. Throughout these various years, PSC's engagement on Burkina Faso has been focused on military coups staged in the country and ensuing transition processes.
