In August, under the chairship of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the African Union (AU) Peace and Security Council (PSC) had a scheduled Provisional Programme of Work (PPoW) consisting of nine substantive sessions and a field mission. Following the revision of the PPoW, ten substantive sessions were held, covering eleven agenda items.

Of the eleven agenda items, three focused on country/conflict-specific situations, while four addressed thematic issues and PSC’s statutory engagements with other relevant bodies. All the sessions were held at the level of permanent representatives.
